From Coimbra there are several short trips to make, by car or public transport. Paul Arzila (7 km) - The natural park and wetlands is a worthwhile sight for those who like quietness, birds and nature. Conimbriga (20 km) - The ancient Roman city. Forest and Palace of Busaco (40 km) - Famous local areas. It is also possible to take the train to Lousa. Visit on Wednesday for the market of Miranda do Corvo. Continue by train and enjoy a walking tour into the mountains of Lousa. For beach lovers there is not only Figueira da Foz (45 km) or Mira (50 km) and Aveiro beach (75 km), but also the river-beach of Coimbra, toward Penacova (10 km).

Please note that Casa Pombal is a 100-year-old townhouse in the historical centre. It is not easily accessible for less mobile guests (small stairs, 3 floors and no lift) and the streets around are all cobbled stones.
